“It’s about where the road leads you”

Exploring environmentalism, consumerism and the picturesque, Russian-born, America-based Anastasia Samoloyva profits with new work exploring the Floridian Peninsula. Entrusted in partnership with MPB , Shoot the Follow up; Then and Now America asked two photographers to create vibrant new projects exploring the land, myth, history and future of America- through their own eyes.

“I accumulated thousands of images, ” Samoylova explains. “I was time of day and night. ”

Developing her exercise of road trip photography during the last four years, Samoylova provides embraced the long great American photographers and their own nomadic journeying. “I adore driving, I feel at ease generally there, ” she explains.

Natural and always adaptable, Samolyva used the trip to investigate the particular fabric of the state, in the forgotten coasts to the state borders. “Florida contains multiples. It’s all very different, and an area that I hadn’t explored much, until now. It’s a very different south. ”

Isaac Huxtable

Isaac Huxtable joined the British Journal of Photography within October 2020, where he happens to be the Editorial Assistant. Just before this, he studied a BA in History of Artwork at the Courtauld Instititue of Art, London.
